I wrote sudoscript in response to a problem I faced at a new job. Engineers there did without support from the Unix group because they wanted to retain the root password. I wrote up this experience in a paper published in the August 2002 issue of ;login, the Magazine of USENIX and SAGE. I called it "The Problem of PORCMOLSULB: Can Root be Controlled in Engineering Environments?" I think the paper is useful for Systems Administrators considering the use of sudoscript in their environments. It's available here in HTML and PDF formats. (If you are into that sort of thing, you can also grab the XML source, the egbokdoc DTD, and the HTML and PDF XSL stylesheets.)
